Workshop
Some Stories Are Meant to Be Shared
At Atelier Hana Tsugi, workshops are more than a class, they are an invitation to slow down and experience the philosophy of repair. Through a guided introduction to the art of Kintsugi, participants discover how patience and care can transform what is broken. The process unfolds gently, almost like a form of meditation, offering a pause from the rhythm of everyday life. Repairing an object becomes not only a creative gesture, but also an act of sustainability, choosing to restore rather than discard, and giving new life to what still holds meaning.

Kintsugi - Foundations
The Kintsugi Foundations program is designed for participants who wish to learn the complete Kintsugi repair process using their own objects. Over seven sessions, we guide you step-by-step from the initial break to the final finish using authentic Urushi lacquer.
What to expect
-
Repair your own objects: Work on up to two of your own damaged ceramic pieces
-
The complete process: Build your repair step-by-step over several weeks.
-
Traditional materials: Work with traditional tools and authentic Urushi lacquer.
-
Choice of finishing: Finish your repair with brass, copper or tin.
-
Individual guidance: A calm, focused environment where each participant receives personal guidance.
-
A curated ceramic piece to work on during the course
Important notes regarding your objects
Suitable materials include ceramics, stoneware, porcelain, or Raku. Please send a photo of your pieces in advance so we can assess their feasibility. If you do not have your own object, suitable pieces will be available for purchase on-site.
